GROWING UP: I am originally from Eastline, Connecticut. I attended college, but didn’t finish. When I was younger, I ran a video store and it taught me so much. It opened so many doors for me.
CURRENT GIG: I have been in LA for 25 yrs now. I do celebrity interviews for TV and online outlets. I am a film critic. I also have a business where we fix electronics and create mobile apps. It is also important for me to support the veterans coming home and to empower them. I am very involved in my community.
EXPERIENCES WITH RACE: I grew up in an all white town in the mid to late 70’s. There were a lot of old stereotypes. I would walk down the street and hear people lock their doors. When I walk fast in Beverly Hills, police and undercover cops have stopped me because there were car jackings in the area and they wanted to question me.
FINAL THOUGHTS: I do what I say and I say what I am going to do. I am that person that people come to for advice. I am a caregiver. But, I have finally learned how to take care of myself first so I can give from a healthier place. I am outside the box but I am hovering above the box.
