GROWING UP: I grew up in Virginia Beach, VA and went to high school in Chesapeake, VA. I attended a performing arts high school program in the evening. I graduated from Carnegie Mellon with my B.F.A.
CURRENT GIG: I just finished doing the Oregon Shakespeare Festival. I am an actor, so I am doing the LA actor grind. I am enjoying life with my friends.
EXPERIENCES WITH RACE: My parents made sure that people calling me the “n” word did not affect me. They helped me with having thick skin. I was at an audition and a casting director said to me that nobody is going to expect me to be that brilliant, well spoken and talented because I am black. It wasn’t the end of the world for me, but it was interesting seeing people have their own pre conceived notions.
FINAL THOUGHTS: Despite my stature, I am one of the nicest people you will ever meet. I support my friends and am there for them. I am very optimistic. I am also very stubborn and can stand my ground when I need to.
